As Life Goes On Poem by ciaran magee

As Life Goes On

No life to speak off,
A young man works.
Everyday he struggles on,
None of his responsibilities he shirks.

Twenty two years young,
Stress is taking its toll.
He is seeing a brighter light,
Having an experience like the super bowl.

She has entered his life,
Stealing his heart more each day.
For the first time he feels alive,
It's been so long since he felt this way.

The future is now about her,
No longer about the job that took his youth.
He has to be open with her,
Tell her the truth.

She has become vital to his living,
Without her he is empty again.
Does he really want,
To go back to that empty pain?

Falling for her is what's happening,
Will he allow for this to be done?
Work was his life for so long,
What happens if this love goes wrong...
