Assumptions - Poem by Poetry Guy

I make assumptions.
I make stupid wrong assumptions.
I see faults where there arent any.
I assume the worst.

I react badly when I assume.
I say things i dont mean,
Things i know arent true.
And it causes hurt.

Can I change?
I want to change.
Will I change?
Im trying.

Assume makes an ass out of u and me?
No, only me.

I whole heartedly feel this. Assumptions tend to be wrong and have a funny little way of catching up with you in the end. (Report) Reply

Hi PG, don't beat yourself up about assuming! That is what we have been taught! To make judgements. It takes time to realise this. Now, in my life, I take nothing for granted. Nothing is never quite what it appears and everyones view is different! It changes, depending on where you are standing. It has been one of my hardest lessons to learn and I still have to work at it. Your poem speaks volumes. 10 from unassuming, smiling Tai (Report) Reply
