Atlantic Ocean Poem by Clyde King

Atlantic Ocean

Atlantic Ocean is
Beyond dangerous and
Cold freezing salt water
Drowns you very quickly
Even if you can swim
Ferocious undertows
Grab and pull you under
Hoping to float on it
Is your only way up

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I've been caught in undertows and going with the current, not panicking, and gradually floating until you can swim away from it is your only chance to avoid drowning
