Atlas Poem by Zoe Barron

Atlas

I hear everyone I love wail in my ear
I feel all their stress, their sadness, their fear
I hang my head low so they can't see my tears
I start to feel my breaking point drawing near
I can't shut them out nor can I turn away
I hold the sky on my shoulders day after day
And as everything falls apart, I can only pray
That sooner, not later, they'll all be okay
