Attention Poem by Hamza Iqbal

Attention

Beneath a veil of pride and scorn,
She hides a heart forlorn,
Jealousy creeps in the shadows,
As her insecurities grow.

Once she spurned love's gentle plea,
Now she seeks to win me,
But like a wilted flower,
Her chances fade by the hour.

Her envy burns like fiery ember,
As she watches me remember,
The attention now bestowed,
By those whose hearts have newly flowed.

But love that's forced can never bloom,
In a heart consumed by gloom,
For her jealousy and fear,
Only push me further, dear.

So let her learn this bittersweet truth,
That love is not a game of youth,
And in the end, she'll see,
What's meant to be will always be.
