August Visitor Poem by Oladele Noah

August Visitor

In recent times
The young despise your home
For your incessant visit freaks them
To slags, they shouldn’t be left out
If it were to be man’s ideology

To the precept of nature
Anchored you aught to live
With an adult in her prime
Your then obstinate visit is now no crime
Be a glutton in her days of joy
It is an epitome of fruitfulness

In ancient days, be it as it was
Contrary to man’s recent philosophy
When there was no distinction among
Teenage days and days of the prime

My gratitude to August Visitor
That was then appreciated by all
Not been a contrast to my being
