Aurangzeb's Tomb Poem by Ramesh Joshi

Aurangzeb's Tomb

Faisalabad, the place of pilgrim
History, religion, combined,
Moghal emperor Aurangzeb
Lies here, simple tomb, uncovered.

He was last Moghal emperor
Known to world the cruel,
Known for taxing Hindus
Known for cruelty, leaving children
Why choose to rest this place
Leaving  Delhi empire,
came south, conqueror
Killing, plundering destroying
Forts, Kingdoms, of worship.

Then came, end as to every one
Before death passed decree,
wherever he dies, his body be
brought to this place for rest.

He made provisions, burial,
Religious, was in mind,
Loved Islam, than life
His preacher, he loved, rest with.
