The first time that you touched my heart, felt it sink like a stone.
I knew that it wouldn't be long till you left me alone.
Don't think that I blame you, for you never asked me to play.
You never pretended to love me, it all went one way.
The moment I felt myself falling, I knew I was lost.
I tried to grab something to stop me - I knew it would cost.
I knew it was hopeless: impossible: madness: insane.
I knew there would never be pleasure, just effortless pain.
I screamed to my God to show mercy, but nobody heard.
I never wanted to love you, it's just too absurd.
I hid it away, deep inside, over shadowed by shame.
For no one must ever suspect love that can't speak its name.
I knew when I first felt the thrill at the sound of your voice
The end would be tears and regrets, but I still had no choice.
Once I was falling, there wasn't a way to go back.
Right now I have just hit rock bottom - don't want my breath back.
I knew it was hopeless and truly I did try to fight.
I never expected to win, and I know I was right.
Love is a gateway to pain and I wish I was dead.
God how it hurts me whenever my heart rules my head.
