Barricaded Poem by Nancy M. Godfrey

Barricaded

Rating: 5.0

How did you manage to tear down
-Barricaded walls-
Reinforced with steel?
How were you able to dig so deep...
To crawl inside my thoughts?
You explored nooks and crannies
I didn't know still exsisted.
-Amongst ruins-
Left trampled and discarded
You found my secrets.
Tattered remnants of the
-Me-
I use to be.
-Digging deeper-
You discovered a lock and key.
-Rusted-
-Bent-
-Worn out-
Like a skilled craftsmen
Adept at his trade...
You chiseled away
-Mortar-
-Rock-
-Steel-
And any remaining dismay.
From a dark and desolate cavern
You set my heart free.
