Beats Poem by Michael Oluwasegun Adesiji

Beats

Rating: 5.0

What If
You blow the trumpet
And not even you could hear it sound
What if you striked all notes
And not even you could note a sound.

What If
You beat the drums
With all the mights there in your arms
What if you bang it hard
And not a beep could chase your frown.

What If
You grab the bell
And every swing made no jingle
What if the guitar failed your wrist
At every tickle.

What If
You sing with all your veins aligned
What if you sound like Jackson
And not even a ear to listen.

What If
You tour the world
From a tunnel of silence
What if the moon is all you've got
To tell your fears
What if your shadow witnessed it all
With no speech or murmurs.

What If
Life made no sounds
To make you a bliss
In the place of none
What if rest turns all you crave
At the end of it all.

What if you forget
About life in the grave
For a minute
To see through your being
With a palm placed on your chest
Maybe, you will find the beat you so crave
Beating of hope every second.
