Beauty Poem by Suky Basran

Beauty

[my version]

When I see you before me
I think God has painted
a magnificent portrait
in the air itself

the trail from the bubble bath
in the tub
the white towels hugging on the white tiles
the wisp of smoke dancing like the silhouette of an Arabian dancer
on the candle that just went out
moonlight reflecting on the floor
snow flakes slowly so silently falling on the windowsill
champagne bubbles yet bubbling
my warmth on yours
your grasp in mine
i want to record this moment
in the pages of my life
such a precious moment
inside the bosom of god
i would play it back
but once more
just before
the moment where
life leaves me forever
for right then
is when it will have the greatest meaning
