Because Of Love Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Because Of Love

I love today because I live
Because of Christ’s command
Because He died His love to give
That I should live as planned

I live and love because of love
Because of love well spent
Because I’ve so much from above
I cannot love repent

What Jesus did for such as me
And did for all mankind
Because He shares so liberally
Shows love is more than blind

It sees each need and slightest cause
Stretching its wondrous hand
Opening closing many doors
In each and every land

It’s free to give its free to keep
Though often seen as odd
But what runs shallow what runs deep
Is very nature’s God

Love’s Father Son and Holy Ghost
It’s Jesus’ mighty throng
Always patient it doesn’t boast
And lives to sing it’s song

It sings to me it sings to you
With melody so sweet
Its daily free its daily new
At Jesus’ loving feet

So here I stand and hear I live
In love wrapped tight and sealed
All I receive I’ll seek to give
Until life’s breath I yield
