because of you
i had ‘dhal’ with ‘dosa’
along with goes a cup of ‘chai’
and i stood beside the rest room
the whole day through.

i say, “i love you”
but facing another lady in red
she thought i meant at her
a slap she gave me gently
my tooth dropped immediately
huh….the pain still there.

i am fasting and fasting
not for reason divine
but i can’t eat your cooking
that taste better than rotten rat
a compliment, my darling.

i quarreled with my friend
who praised you non-stop
