Becky Poem by Mary Champion

Becky

Bright eyed and bushy tailed!
Whoever coined that phrase
had you in mind.
I see you every morning
with your elderly owner -
your light footed
keen-nosed forays
denying your own years.
But, unfailingly,
on the return journey,
you proudly display that day's trophy -
a triumphant stick!
