Before Slumber Poem by Janine Alyssa Navarro

Before Slumber

I have to say this
before slumber takes me.
Forget time
or the distance,
the past
and where it’ll take us.
You’ll be safe
in my small arms.
When I lose my control
you’ll spin me back home.
You’re the only
who knows me.
We’ll slow down
you’ll slow me down.
All I want to do
is look after you.
