Before The Requiem Poem by Jay Kasturi

Before The Requiem

It is unbearable to know that
everything I learnt I will forget,
that everything I write down
will slip from my mind, one day.
Disease enters the heart like rust,
love too must come
to this bewildered stare and holding on
to a stranger’s kind hand.
