Berries With Blue Poem by James Hunter

Berries With Blue

Rating: 5.0

Way up north in Alaska - Where I raise my family
Is where I find peace of mind - and just adore the scenery
My favorite thing to do here - in the fall before the snow
I climb up in the mountains - where the wild berries grow
One day I took my daughter - to a favorite place of ours
We started picking berries - and placing them in jars
The bushes were so thick - we wondered far apart
I could hear her telling stories - to herself or so I thought
When I started getting closer - picking berries all the while
I came upon a baby bear - eating berries with my child
I did panic just a little - My first thought was what to do
When my daughter said "Dad please meet my friend,
Can we keep him? I've named him Blue"
Nervously I searched around - for the mother of this bear
Knowing she would not take kind
But I could not see her anywhere
Grudgingly I said OK
Back to our home I call the zoo
See my daughter collects all kinds of things
Last of which a bear called Blue
