Between Yesterday And Tomorrow Poem by Humulkhair Abdulmumeen

Between Yesterday And Tomorrow

‎It filled my hands, the dust of yesterday
‎Dust of memories that cannot be blown away
‎Filling my ears, with whimpers of pain
‎Tying my legs, no freedom I could gain
‎Standing rooted on the road unknown

‎And the voice of tomorrow I could hear
‎From the whispers of trees near
‎Echoing the sweet melodies of unseen future in my ears
‎Setting my feet on road, a journey unknown

‎Here I stand today,
‎Hoping for a path to find my way
‎Mending my heart to fit the mold
‎Healing from wounds, deep and old
‎Prepping for tomorrow, yet to unfold
‎Breathing through pain without being told

‎Though, yesterday has left in me, old scars
‎But tomorrow promises sweet melodies to last forever
‎Between yesterday and tomorrow lies,
‎Today where I will live to learn and face my fears
‎live to wash away the dust of yesterday
‎And yearn for the promises of tomorrow
