Beyond Light, Beyond Darkness
Walk beyond light,
walk beyond darkness,
on the sandals of consciousness,
beyond all knowing and unknowing,
beyond every boundary
the mind can draw—
to the summit of Truth,
where mysteries lie hidden:
unchanging, absolute,
veiled in the dazzling darkness
of the secret Silence.
There, light is outshone
by the intensity of its own shade.
The senses are flooded
until they can no longer see.
The mind is blinded
until it can no longer think.
The folds lift from the eyes.
The plugs withdraw from the ears.
The knot upon the tongue
comes loose.
And then—
the unseen is seen,
the unheard is heard,
the unspeakable
finds a tongue.
Beauty reveals itself
beyond all beauty,
where seeing is no longer seeing,
hearing no longer hearing,
and speech falls silent
before the Unspeakable.
There, in the dazzling darkness
of the secret Silence,
Truth does not appear.
Truth simply is.
