Bigger Than I Think You Know Poem by Inco G. Nito

Bigger Than I Think You Know

When you left me, I thought:
What could I have done differently?
When you hesitated I challenged you
When you resisted I maybe even pushed you

You built thick walls around you
You said:
Not to shut people out,
but to see who were persistent enough
to knock them down!

But your walls were too thick!
No matter how much I tried, they would not give in
So instead, I tried to climb over...
You did not like that at all!

I apologize if you think I went too far
but you see...
I pushed you because I wanted you to grow
Not because you are so small
but because you are bigger than I think you know!
