Bitter Love Poem by Toni Atchison

Bitter Love

Oh, that you could steal my heart!
I don't know how or why
but you've taken it from me,
and this torrent of words
comes nowhere close
to exorcising the agony
of my torment.
I seek solace in your arms,
the touch of your hand,
the sound of your voice...
all serve to heal my wounds,
to soothe my soul-
but still you hold my heart.
