Black Seas And Sunny Skies Poem by A W

Black Seas And Sunny Skies

A warm field, the grass soft and kind under my bare feet
I can feel the summer days heat
The toy balloon of a sun is in the brilliantly blue sky
This golden afternoon flows in the slow breeze
Above me the bread and butterflies fly high
A wispy tune of a lullaby pulls me to lay down
My soft flowy lavender gown
Wraps around my ankles, falling and settling on the thick grass.
The beauty around me seems more fragile than glass
I smile wishing someone was here to enjoy it with me
A boy with hair as dark as a black sea
Eyes the color of the emeralds and amber.
The boy who makes me choke and stamper
Who's perfect Tan skin makes my heart seize
Emotions trip me up as he walks towards me
He's dressed in his crystal white shirt, patched pants, his black boots shine in the sun
Out here our love is free to let be
Though our lives have just begun
I feel my face warm with the unmistakable heat of young embarrassment
He sets my world apart
The gods above could do nothing to stop our souls from colliding
No action they perform
His body lies next to mine, his head turned towards mine.
Our noses touching.
A giddy smile shared between us.
