Blank! - Poem by Ibrahim Enitan Eniola Olubiyi
Blank! Blank! !
Like a clear beautiful sky
No dark clouds,
Absolutely void of silver lining
Clear as a crystal
Void of any signal
Woe betides thee
Oh! Observer of the heavens
For gone from thee are the hand writings of the Gods,
Where will you turn?
Where will you search?
North or the South?
The rising of the sun or its going down?
Happier is the blind man in his state
Crystal clear the heavens is
As white as the snow,
As clear as the mind of the dead
The heaven is
Though no signal
No wonder, no word
Yet, to him will I reach out to
I will lift up my eyes
To the hills,
From where comes my help?
Without fear I will stride on
For the just shall live by faith
Though I got no sign,
Yet, must I move on by faith
blessed I am for him do I place my trust
