Blank Poem by Janine Alyssa Navarro

Blank

Shadows lurk the spaces of this prison
strange stares from harsh eyes
helplessly engulfed in gloomy darkness
alone in a mess, alone in dread.

Numb and weak with sharp breakdowns
blown away by a sweet misery
haunting, deafening, it pierces within
despite the mist of eerie silence.

Tears flow, it lights up my face
my yells are silent but my mind screams
at one corner the blurry vision
of a rotting ceiling appears to bleed.

Whether this blackness
or a morose self dwelling in such a place
ever feel warmth from the outside glow
remains unanswered, remains untold.
