Bleed All Day Poem by Steven Webster

Bleed All Day

Open up my head again and
See it on the evening news
Hinckley shot that president
In a pair of Nike running shoes

While I,
Bleed all day
I
Bleed all day

Open up a deck of cards
The Jack of Hearts is in a haze
Pledged the Queen his love's allegiance
In a roaring game of Sigmund says

And I
Bleed all day
I
Bleed all day

Tell me why my heart is empty
And why my soul is black as ink
Watch me chop off all my fingers
And wash them down the kitchen sink

Then I
Bleed all day
I
Bleed all day
