Bleeding Heart Poem by Barbara Vanier

Bleeding Heart

Desperate, He reaches out seeking love
In the vacuum of that heart
Rejection, thrust back into the atmosphere of loneliness again
Anger, the rage of years of tears
The zombie begins to awake
Satiated mind of times and comes and comes again

Who will help this sorrowed soul
Tortured twisted torn apart
Mother Mary pray to God
Or let the bleeding heart

Constriction, no air to breath
Just smoke from the dieing embers
Panic, attacks a soul who longs
To see the outside light
Weep, weep, weep amore`
for the loss of a distant syrene
Thrash, trashed, smash his head
Against a wall with all his might

Who will help this sorrowed soul
Tortured twisted torn apart
Mother Mary pray to God
Or let the bleeding heart

And don't you have, perhaps, some joy
To communicate to me?
Intead your knife comes out with a shout
The tearing proceeds
I'm on my knees begging
But your blade slices low
Who are you going to have to cut
When I've fallen on the road?

Sitting in your electric chair
With your hands around my throat
Your hangmans noose tightens
Blackened ancient dreams with no hope
Left alone to dream once more
Take another sip of tea
But you droped in your hemlock friend
Now comes the death of me
