Bleeding Wounds Poem by Scarlett Reid

Bleeding Wounds

My blood runs black
Down my shirt it stains
The dam has finally burst
The pain runs out from its hiding place
The cuts and scars on my heart are permanent
The band-aids won't hold, they're not enough to hold the wounds
The pain is overbearing
But I've begun to stop caring
About me
About the world around me
The scars may not be seen
But they're etched apon my soul and heart
Ripping me apart.
