Blind Poem by Alejandro Torres

Blind

Spend the hours
Missing your smile
Waiting to see
With no attempt at finding you
Still don’t know where you are
Or if you’re here
Want to walk out the front door
Without looking back
Want to shut my eyes
To everything I leave behind
But I can’t forget
The one who makes me feel
Way too much
Can’t forget you
Even though many say I should
Something pulls me
Even harder than their words
Something in your eyes
Sways me
Every time I wish I couldn’t see
To keep on looking
Something in your smile
Dares me to turn away
But it’s just a game we’ll play
Until I get hurt
Then I’ll pick up the pieces
You wont take with you
When you walk out that door
That I hold
Blindly open
