Blizzard Poem by Sally Evans

Blizzard

Suddenly a blizzard descends.
My comfort holds,
built with my own hands
warm and gloveless
this side of the glass.
This is its first test.
I am in another world
than that white fury.
Stripped of its hurt
it settles, picturesque,
tearlessly invigorating.
What can I say?
I have been out there
and required shelter.
Who wouldn't?
Now the blizzard clears.
The sky sparkles.
Only by forgetting
can I go out of doors.
