Blockade Break Poem by Senjuti Masud

Blockade Break

Playing a breathless chess
A placid board, a miming case
All mingling
And tuning in,
Morning, noon, evening’s slot
And midnight’s plot.

For luxury, lobster curry, a day-nap
A song or a poetic scrap,
All jingling
And tuning in,
‘Morning, noon and evening’s act
And midnight’s pact
.

A thirst for bulletin-beverage
Blockade and procession
Media coverage,
Cave of spleen
And tuning in,
‘Morning, noon and evening’s scene
And midnight’s spin.

Holidays (quarantine! !) chiming
Strikes, with no timing,
With chasing re-chasing rhyming
And tuning in,
Morning, noon and evening’s audience
And midnight’s suspense.

So the right frequency
With wrinkled urgency
All midway hiking fluency
And tuning in,
‘Morning, noon and evening’s dialogue
And midnight’s monologue.
