Blood Of A Whore & Mystery Of The Demon - Poem by The Sleeper

A sentenced demon, forgiven by God
The reason unknown unchallenged, until he was bestowed
to a throne in the stars left to wander alone..
A shimmering of the light..
Could have been from the lies..
They talked behind his back those hidden Angels.
Scoffing, sputtering.
Jealously in their eyes.

We’ll return later to ponder...
The outcomes never foreseen..
How do we know it was real?

The rain began to pour on a solemn village,
the land purified and poisoned by this magic demon.
They say he said as he passed “I do it because I can”
As he began to vanish as he moved towards the forest,
he came across a tree of woe..
A tree damned by regret, a woman nailed to the branches deemed wicked.
This demon felt compassion, cutting vines as he came ever closer..
Using these natural ropes to pull the nails from her wrist.
The instant she was free, he was offered a kiss...
Within her lips, could be seen endless depths of steel...
The blood within her heart was on her hands.

The cost of such an act cost him his kingdom,
leaving the demon once again to condemnation.
The woman bled until she became the ground leaving a stain of crimson..
The soil splitting opening for growth..
Low and behold another tree began to grow...
Within the bark a face was etched of the demon and his newly crowned Queen..
Forever more shall this be.
Deep within the darkest parts of that village they still speak of the whore they killed.
Leaving for the wild and the wind to tear and eat.

Now long passed the tree stands as the marker for the grave of a great confusion..
The mystery of her freedom and his motives long been sought an act of sexual

perversion.
Have been cleaned by those mocking Angels who blessed the tree with their own

sacrifice.
Out of God’s hand the gift came to light...
Sewing the mouths of all the demon despised.
In the trail of this gift left nothing but red sand.
That lone tree still shades the blood of betrayal and God’s precious man.
