Not the tall skyward growing tree,
But this Ashoka is short and round
With more green foliage.
It is said when a woman touches the tree
It blossoms forth orange flowers;
Especially if she is somebody like Sita.
I haven't looked up the etymology:
Whether Mahabharat epic relates
Any story like this when in Lanka.
If true, it leads to confusion of gender;
Maybe not Sita but when Hanuman sees
The tree in Srilanka it blushed like
Water in Cana of Galilee
Which saw her Lord,
And blushed, wine-red.
