Body On The Beach Poem by Eva Beylich

Body On The Beach

Evicted by war
they set out on a journey
not always welcome

Flimsy construction
help came in the nick of time
it was their last hope

Body on the beach
a human interest story
quickly forgotten

Wood, body and coat
if you overload a boat
it will sink and float

The undipped headlights
on her face in the dark car
tears blur her vision
