Boy In A Man Body

Boy in a man body, still trying to find his way
Lost in the transition, struggling every day
A child's mind trapped in a grown-up shell
Trying to break free from society's spell
His eyes hold a certain youthful glow
But his shoulders bear the weight, we all know
Trying to fit in, trying to belong
But something about him just feels wrong
Boy in a man body, out of place and out of time
Aching for a chance to press rewind
To go back to a simpler time
When life was carefree, with no reason to rhyme
But time moves on, and he must adapt
To the expectations and pressures, he's trapped
His heart still beats with a childlike joy
But his mind must play the role of a man, oh boy
He tries to play the game, but his spirit resists
He simply can't conform, he just can't persist
His soul is wild, and it yearns to be free
But society demands conformity, can't he just be?
Boy in a man body, struggling to break free
From the chains that hold him, from what he's supposed to be
He longs for adventure, for a life full of wonder
But the world keeps pushing him, pulling him under
His heart sings with passion, his spirit cries out
But the weight of the world slowly fills him with doubt
Can he be both a man and a boy?
Or must he choose one, and let go of the other with no joy?
Boy in a man body, a walking contradiction
Trying to find his place, in a world full of restrictions
He yearns to explore, to let his imagination roam
But the weight of responsibility brings him back home
He wears a suit and tie, but his heart wants to play
To run in the fields and dance in the rain
But the expectations of society, they hold him back
Forcing him to conform, to stay on track
Boy in a man body, aching to break free
To be who he is, to be what he wants to be
But society's mold, it's hard to break
And he's left wondering, will he ever awake?
To the boy inside, the one he used to be
Or must he bury him, deep inside and never see?
The man in the mirror, staring back at him
But inside he knows, that boy still lives within
Boy in a man body, oh how he longs
To break free from the chains, from all that's wrong
To embrace his youth, to never let go
To be true to himself, to let his spirit glow
But for now, he walks this path alone
Hiding the boy inside, never to be shown
But deep in his heart, he knows the truth
That boy in a man body, will always be his youth.
