Broken Poem by Alexander Foald

Broken

A breezy wind blows through
The empty shell of my broken heart
Wonder if the lights could off today
So I can cry with no one around to see

Something’s telling me it’s okay
That she could have hurt me more than this
Another says this is how it should have been
Since I couldn’t love as much as she wanted

I watch the falling stars as they fall into the sea
Bringing down all the memories behind their tails
I wish I could just erase what is stuck inside my head
Without dropping tears each time I try

I’m falling down with the flow of time
Can’t see where I’m heading to, but I’m clearly sure
What awaits me ahead is nothing more than a bitter irony
Of a thought that she’ll be coming back someday
