Broken Poem by Ellen frawley

Broken

I glance in the water
refelction staring back at me
who is this girl looking at back at me
Her face is blank
though her eyes are aqcuising me
why have you sat silent
what have you done
Cat caught your tonge
your lack of words more damaging then his actions
the silence has cut to deep
her world shattered like a mirror smashed on the floor
view of the world
self image forever distored
memories broken fragmets
as her hopes and dreams
trying in vain to gather the shattered pieces
fit the pieces together again
the task is hard
she is weary
pieces are sharp
cutting away
leaving scars
maybe one day
she ll have a clearer picture,
the sharp edges will be no more
maybe her tears
will be as rain washing away
the blood and the pain

Pain comes through each word of this poem. Write about it to cope and seek out friends and family who care about you to help. Reflections do not mirror our true selves, but are shadows, window dressing, our souls are our true material, our spirit the inward reflection of our life.
