You tell me you want me
You'll always be there
To love and protect me
From all that's unfair

You work to convince me
That you're what I need
My heart remains guarded
I'm ready to flee

Then you stand here beside me
and look into my eyes
I need to believe you
Can't take no more lies

I let my guard down
and crawl into your bed
My heart open to you
By the things that you said

Now that challenge is over
Your battles been won
One heart is left broken
and one just moved on
