Broken Hearted Prayer Poem by Shelby Burnside

Dear god,

i don't want to cry.
please take these tears and put them back inside, inside my heart where they belong.
where no one can see them and no one will ask 'what is wrong? '.
my cheeks will stain and my eyeliner will run.
but he won't see.
and he won't know.
and he go on thinking that you broke me nicely.
when really he destroyed me.
but he doesnt know that, because I told him a lie.
from the start I should have known that this wasn't going to work.
but god, you see, my heart kept whispering lies to me.
