Broken Hymns And Holy Prayers Poem by Patrick Fleskes

Broken Hymns And Holy Prayers

Beauty compared to setting yourself on fire,

Eyes set to “safe mode” dial back hours (Analog telephone, hear your voice when you rattle them bones) ,

Thinking about death… one becomes flowers, resurrect reject?

Where can you go?

Where when your soul escapes you?

What can you do?

When your soul escapes you?

Shaking madly in broken equilibrium,

False prophets will praise him,

Did the past have better men? Or have past mishaps been mostly forgotten, forgiven,

Now see yourself electric,

How far do your arms stretch?

See yourself infinite,

How far do your arms stretch?
