Broken Pieces
From a mother to her Daughter
Broken pieces in your hand pick yourself up, but why even try,
Silent whispers in your heart you close your ears and begin to cry
You wonder why you have no strength to just let go,
My daughter you are me, stronger than you know
Don’t let the killers kill your strength,
Don’t let go of your glorious faith
You know and pray to let go of your fears,
Let them fly away, release your tears
If you ever come to a broken crossroads, choose your own path,
If you ever lose hope in love, don’t give up make it last
When you come face to face with a burdened soul,
Lend them your heart and never let go
Thy little angel, whom is my life,
Remember who you are don’t ever lie
Broken pieces that haunt your heart,
Desperate cries that seem so far
You question the choices of whom to trust,
My dear child, you are a fighter, fight, if you must
Don’t rely on violence as your battle,
Only your beliefs can breach your saddle
Do not let a single person lead you to failure,
Do not let them burn you, or make you a failure
You have my mother’s blood and my rebellious pride,
She’s inside us both unable to hide
Remember your beauty and don’t take it for advantage,
It’s the one true thing that we truly manage
If you ever lose a friend whom was never true,
If they want you back don’t let them fool you
If you fall in love with the unworthy guy,
If he breaks your heart, with a painful lie
Leave him behind, cause the past is a trap,
Remember thy strength, you more than you cap
Someone says a broken heart will sting forever, but make you stronger,
Lock away thy broken pieces my dear, you are my daughter.
