Bullied Poem by Claire Taggart

Bullied

You're a memory I could never erase
A picture I was never brave enough to deface

You are the last person on my mind before I sleep
Dreaming is my retreat
The only place I can go and sit in someone else’s seat

And when it's time to open my eyes
I want to keep them shut tight
I do not want the sun to rise

I do not want take this breath
Or this heart to beat
I want god to let me come home
But he won't let me cheat

I’m still here waiting
To get back that part of me
That part that you took
Snatched away
When everyone else refused to look

Your name is carved into my skin
A daily reminder
That you will always win
