But A Passing Moment Poem by Göran Gustafsson

But A Passing Moment

Along a wild and boundless ocean
I tread a sandy shore
And think with great devotion
On those who've gone before

On those who rode the waves for living
In a cruel and heartless world
And to this place, so unforgiving
Been born and then out-hurled.

But time and tides will then erase
My footprints in the sand
The life I've lived and every trace
Will slowly vanish from the land
