But Am I Poem by Barbara Vanier

But Am I

I am sitting here with this sound in my head
Shivers shakes my body as I long to hear more
I am glad no one can hear it
But Am I

They look at me and stare
I stare back hard into their eyes and smile
There are so many and none know the sound
They only see a sitting figure smiling coyly

I want them to hear it I want them to know
The sound I hear touches me... OH! down below
If only they knew if only they might care
To share in this sound that I have... Hear!

I hear a voice she calls to me
Expressions of devotion how deep they run
I am glad no one can hear it
But am I

Lol, that is called Schizophrenia... Jkjk... Nice piece of writing, I like how you shape the none caring society in your poem, leaving yourself isolated in your own realm...
