By Letting You Go Poem by Franchesca Mia Tortoza

By Letting You Go

Whenever for someone else their love falls,
Many weep or scream or punch the walls,
They aren't willing to accept the fact that they'll be replaced,
That into dust will turn the majestic castles they raised.

And although, how I feel for you, there is no denying,
How much I wished that I'd be who you'd be loving,
I know that with me, you won't ever be satiated; happy—
This is just all the more reason to let you go ever willingly.

Don't get me wrong—I will always love you
And I know that without you, I'll be blue,
But I know as well, that should you forever stay with me,
Neither of us will ever feel how it is to truly be free.

And though our love was amazing while it did last
It is time to forget it and leave this all in the past,
I say, 'Goodbye, ' and I smile contentedly, for I do know,
I know that I'm giving you happiness, by letting you go.
