By My Mother's Grave Poem by Emily Conde

By My Mother's Grave

Rating: 5.0

I sat there and I stared
I just could not bare
My mother is forever gone
It just isn't fair

I held the dark red roses
And put them by mothers grave
And layed there right beside her
I just had to be brave

So I thought back to the past
When we danced and we played
I never left her side
And NEVER disobeyed

But as the years flew by
We grew further apart
I went out with my friends
While it just broke her heart

In a flash I was all grown up
And I had to say goodbye
I never saw her again
Why did she have to die?

So now I sit in grief
Thinking of all she gave
Just to let me happily live
While I sit here by my mother's grave
