Caged Poem by Mustafa Marconi

Caged

He’s a caged lion
King yet prisoner
Taken from his natural habitat
“The jungles”
Caged within the confines
Of America
Tamed and domesticated
Unable to perform
Unable to provide
The old teachings and secrets
Sacred ideologies and principles
Unable to pass down
The history of many great generations
And a culture based on merit
And righteousness
Unable to protect
And secure his family
To speak without fear of reprisal
To stand tall and proud like the sons of Abraham
He’s a caged lion
King yet prisoner
Stolen from his natural habitat
In Africa
Caged within the confines
Of America
