Cain Unleashed Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Cain Unleashed

Ere each receives our final wage
For all we’ve said and done
Clearly upon the world wide stage
Many reject God’s Son

The Only Way to joy and peace
To everlasting life
Yet few our wicked ways will cease
And end our useless strife

Our streets are plagued with knives and guns
With vicious blinded ghouls
Father’s daughters, mother’s sons
Expire in bloody pools

Who is the one who fools mankind?
Who paints the darkness white?
Who is the one who keeps us blind?
And fearful of The Light

Deceived within religious gloom
Traditional rites bound tight
Heads are severed in secret rooms
In shadows of the night

While decadence is multiplied
More common day by day
Debauchery’s seen and glorified
Children are led astray

Even within the chosen bride
Unwilling to offend
Some to please the sheep inside
May veil sin’s fateful end

In love and truth the church must rise
Must stand her Saviour true
Must speak The Word to open eyes
Leading to birth anew
