California wildfires threaten countless of homes
while lungs consume smoke, dust, and poisonous fumes
No one knows how long they will burn
As the consequences of what's next still looms.
Our firemen who serve in harm's way
Are the armor of what homeowners depend on.
Without their sacrifice of body, time. and soul
All that we have labored for is gone.
By death, fire, and toxic, afflictions
September 11th. took its toll of firemen
Now as then they gambled their lives
To protect and fulfill their duty to defend
