Called To Serve (2) Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Called To Serve (2)

Until the devil’s final bow
Until the graves demise
We need to take in hand the plough
And silence children’s cries

We need to serve within The Vine
Planted in David’s Root –Rev.22: 16
Eat of Jesus drink His wine – Jn.6: 53+Mt.9: 16-17
And bear to God much fruit –Jn.15: 2

The Lord has taught how cheeks can turn –Mt.5: 39
When disagreements reign
However much inside we burn
However much the pain –Lk.23: 34

We’re called to serve the living Christ
To work The Master’s field
However much we’ve sacrificed
However much we yield

Be overjoyed to serve as planned
Together work as one
Be not like houses built on sand
Or fail to get things done

There’s so much work we need to do
So many run astray
We must unite begin anew
Not split and walk away

Yet truth should never bend its knee
God’s word must always reign
Peter through Paul was made to see –Gal.2: 11-21
And brought to plough again

We can’t be shy the facts to tell
We can’t refuse to fight
We can’t let children go to hell
We need to spread the light…
