This constant aching is so habitual
The darkness, a frigid relief
Burying myself has become instinctual
I scream but the world is fast asleep
The voices can be deafening
I dig my nails to the back of my ears
Silver tongue is beckoning
I close my eyes, holding back my tears
And just when I'm about to give in
You hold me back in place
Facing what I can no longer dismiss
Time comes to no longer wait
In the distance, a faint light is burning
Deep in the hollowness of my existence
As if heaven itself stopped turning
I hear your voice in the distance
Calling out my name.
